Director General SARCO met with Governing Board Member-Afghanistan, for the visit and constructive discussions and feedback on many important matters.

Director General SARCO will attend the 56^th Programming Committee meeting of SAARC scheduled to be held on 11-12 December 2018 in Kathmandu. The Director General will also attend the co-ordination meeting at the SAARC Secretariat on the sidelines of the 56^th Programming Committee.

SAARC Charter Day was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and other SAARC bodies in Islamabad. The event was graced by H.E. Ms. Tehmina Janjua Foreign Secretary of Pakistan and attended by Heads as well as representatives of the Diplomatic Missions, the business community, and media persons. This was a unique occasion where SARCO joined ands with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Islamabad and the SAARC Energy Center to organize this event.

Seminar on “Arbitration: An Effective Dispute Settlement Tool; Regional Experience and implications for Maldives” is being held on 1 November in Malé, to share and discuss latest regional trends in Arbitration and the legal road map for the future.

9th Governing Board Meeting of SARCO held in Malé, Maldives. Delegates from all eight Member Countries of SAARC attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the progress of SARCO and matters of policy and future plan of action were discussed and finalized. SaarcSec MDVForeign

SAARC Arbitration Council (SARCO)’s delegation led by Mr. Zahidullah Jalali, Director General, met with H.E Prof. Dr. Kennedy Gaston, Secretary General, Mr. Mohsen Baharvand, Mr. Yukihiro Takeya, Ms. Wang Liya, Deputy Secretary General, Mrs. Bakhshi, Deputy Director and Ms. Geetika Sharma, PS to SG at Secretariat of AALCO in New Delhi, India on 17 May, 2018.

I felt honored and obliged for a special invitation from Mr. Sunil Motiwal, CEO, and SAARC Development Fund at SAARC Development Fund Partnership Conclave 2018 on “Regional Integration through Project Collaboration and Investments” in New Delhi. The Conclave was organized to put light on the co-financing activities for development projects in the SAARC region.
